From the 21st till the 23rd of June, the first Asian Humanist Convention will take place in Cebu, located in the south of The Philippines. Since the partnership of PATAS with IHEYO, more strength can and will be observed regarding Atheism and Humanism in the region.
IHEYO stands for International Humanist and Ethical Youth Organization and is devoted to promoting the spread of humanism among young people.
IHEYO is working together with many groups and individuals around the world. With humanism in practice IHEYO means all humanist, freethinker, laique, skeptic, rationalist, atheist, agnostics, etc. groups.
IHEYO's main identity is, as described in our By Laws:
To bring into active association youth groups and young humanist individuals throughout the world interested in promoting humanism, as is described in the IHEU Amsterdam Declaration 2002.
IHEYO's aims are:

To promote the development of cooperation among member organizations and humanist youth, especially on the international level;

To promote circulation of information and expertise among member organizations and humanist youth;

To carry out educational and cultural action in order to promote a Humanist vision of cultural, social and ethical values;

To represent its members to any and all international governing institutions on all questions related to the organizations purpose;

To contribute and give a voice to youth humanism on the international level.
IHEYO is a subsidiary of IHEU, specifically for the YOUTH sector.
PATAS and it's representatives and members are strongly looking forward to this congress, and surely other Atheist and Freethinker organizations will have their pleasure in exchanging ideas and upgrading knowledge at the set date.
Mission:
- To promote public understanding about Atheism and Agnosticism; the elimination of myths and misconceptions about Atheism and Agnosticism.
- To encourage fellow Atheists and Agnostics to come out and speak against the discrimination of non-believers; to speak for equal opportunity as Filipino citizens.
- To provide social responsibilities by replacing superstitious imperatives with rational secular solutions grounded in the lack of supernatural beliefs.
- To ensure the camaraderie and harmonious information exchange between Filipino Atheists and Agnostics.
- To promote humanism as an avenue to propagate atheism/agnosticism and kindness to all human beings.
Vision:
The Philippine Atheists and Agnostic Society envisions itself as an agent of social awareness and public understanding concerning non-belief; an organization committed to replacing superstition with rational and secular solutions to social problems, grounded in the lack of belief in the supernatural; and as an organization that commits to education on concepts of Atheism and Agnosticism and the unity of Filipino Atheists and Agnostics, towards Filipino Atheism and Agnosticism.
